Sunday, June 25th, 2017 Do not be afraid (Fr. Michael Augustine Amabisco)

Fr. Michael Augustine’s homily at St. Dominic’s June 25th- Do not be afraid

With all of the different forms of media available today there are two sources of messages that we need to pay attention to, the first is the messages of the world and the second is the messages that God wants us to pay attention to. Generally the message of the world is “Be afraid, be very afraid.” This message leads to a life of fear. The message that Jesus most often gives in the Gospel is “Do NOT be afraid.” Jesus’ message is one of love. Listen to Fr. Michael Augustine preach at St. Dominic’s in Benicia and hear the difference.

Sunday, June 18th, 2017 Corpus Christi

Fr. Jerome’s homily on Father’s Day and the Solemnity of Corpus Christi at St. Dominic’s in Benicia.  A good father instructs and leads but also has to correct when it is necessary.  Our fathers work hard to provide and sacrifice their needs for wants, just as God does for us as well. Listen and hear the whole message.

Sunday, June 11th, 2017 Solemnity of the Holy Trinity

Fr. Corwin Low, O.P. preaches at St. Dominic’s on June 11th. Is the God of Abraham the same God as the Muslims and Christians? We can all trace our lineage back to Abraham, but since God became Man in Jesus, our understanding of God changed and as a result we no longer have a common God. Fr. Corwin explains the Trinity.

Sunday, June 4th, 2017 Pentecost

Fr. Jerome preaches on Pentecost, the birthday of the Church as One,  Holy, Catholic and Apostolic. The Holy Spirit came down on the apostles to enliven them to do the work of Christ and spread the good news of the Gospel. What does that mean? Why does the Church exist?

May 2017

Sunday, May 28th, 2017 The Ascension

Fr. John Thomas Mellein, O.P. visits us and preaches on the Ascension. The Ascension often raises more questions than answers, why do some doubt, why does Jesus have to leave, what does it mean? Today we celebrate Jesus giving us the mission to do His work. How will we answer his command?
