Recorded Homilies at St. Dominic’s

April 2016

April 24th, 2016 Fifth Sunday of Easter

Fr. Jerome preaches on the revelations about Christ and how to live from the book of Revelations.  The old testament helps us prepare the way of the Lord, then the Gospels detail to us his teaching and miracles, but the book of Revelations does talk about the end times but when we look at them at a whole we see how relevant they are to our lives today.

April 17th, 2016 Fr. David on Sheep and Shepherd

Sheep and Shepherd. Fr. David explains the role of the Shepherd in our lives and how we recognize their voice and follow only the voice of the one we belong to, our Lord Jesus. Jesus wants to lead us, and he will do anything to protect His flock out of love.

April 17th, 2016 Good Shepherd Sunday

Deacon Errol Kissinger preaches on the sheep and the Shepard. The Shepard is a symbol for leaders for teachers and especially for parents as people who have a unique influence of others and how we related to them reveals if we are true Shepard, to lead them more than when they found them.  We need to identify our own potential to be a Shepard to those around us whom we love.

April 10th, 2016 Third Sunday of Easter

Fr. Jerome Cudden, O.P. preaches on the Third Sunday of Easter about the post resurrection appearances of Jesus after Easter. The concept of resurrection is perhaps taken for granted today by Christians who were raised with the understanding of Jesus, but at the time it was so radical. Listen and hear how radical it is today as well.

March 26th, 2016 Easter Vigil

Fr. Jerome preaches at the Easter Vigil at St. Dominic’s. He shares the simple prayer that lead to a major change in his life. When we learn to pray “God what do YOU want me to do with the life YOU have given me?” we open ourselves up to a life in Christ and experience the joys heaven right here on earth.

March 13th, 2016 5th Sunday of Lent (Fr. David Farrugia)

Fr. David preaches on the 5th Sunday of Lent on the resurrection of Lazarus. It is a story of Spring, longer days, flowers, birds building nests, new life and hope. Jesus shares good news about tomorrow that helps us accept what we face today. He offers the most consoling statement to us in our state of grief or despair, “I am the Resurrection and the Life, he who believes in me will never die.” God wants us to trust in Him.

March 13th, 2016 5th Sunday of Lent (Deacon Errol)

Deacon Errol Kissinger at St. Dominic’s preaches on the 5th Sunday of Lent about God preparing us for the Mystery of Life & Death.  His homily explains the purpose of Lazarus’ death. In order for us to believe in the strength of love in the spiritual world, love had to be revealed in the physical world.
