Br. Christopher, O.P. preaches at St. Dominic’s on April 29th.  Christ abides with no need for a geographic location. He asks us to abide in Him as He abides in us and makes us holy much like the vine and it’s relationship to the branches.

Fr. Corwin Low, O.P. preaches at St. Dominic’s about the vocation of priesthood and the mystical side of the ordination, all part of the Sacrament of Holy Orders. This week’s gospel about the Good Shepherd was a familiar metaphor used in the early Church, the persecuted Church, and additionally for those men that Jesus has called to the priesthood. I am the Good Shepherd and I know mine and mine know me. The calling must come from Jesus himself in order to be sufficient. 



Sunday, April 22nd, 2018 Good Shepherd Sunday

Fr. David Faruggia, O.P. preaches at St. Dominic’s on Jesus as the Good Shepherd. There are two types of shepherd’s the hired one and the owner. The hired one is only interested in money and getting paid, the owner will do anything to protect his flock. Jesus leads us safely home.  He is the true shepherd that feeds his sheep. No person of fame or power can offer that except Jesus alone, he looks for us and comes to us to bring us back.

Br. Christopher preaches at St. Dominic’s on Divine Mercy Sunday. It can seem that Mercy and Justice are opposing parties when really they are two sides of God’s own coin.  Jesus is the coin, infinitely merciful and infinitely just. 



Sunday, April 1st Easter Vigil Mass

Fr. Jerome preaches at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Benicia at the Easter Vigil Mass, the biggest liturgy of the year! In all the readings of the Vigil, God starts with an action and we respond. He shows us again and again He is the one that wants to be in relationship with us. Through trials and testing we learn to trust God’s love. We are loved by God and we are all His children.

Sunday, March 18th 5th Sunday of Lent (Fr. Vincent)

Fr. Vincent Serpa, O.P. preaches on the 5th Sunday of Lent at St. Dominic’s about the raising of Lazarus.  Jesus understands our humanness and in his tears he demonstrates that and we can relate to Him. He is our God and our Brother at the same time. We should never feel distant from Him because He has come so close to us. 



Sunday, March 18th, 2018 Fifth Sunday of Lent

Fr. David Farrugia , O.P. preaches on the raising of Lazarus on the 5th Sunday of Lent at St. Dominic’s. Jesus promises, even if you are dead in sin, even if you have lost all that makes life worth living, I can make you ALIVE again. He promises with His Spirit in us, we will live and share in the resurrection.

Br. Christopher Wetzel, O.P. preaches at St. Dominic’s on the 4th Sunday of Lent on the Gospel of John on Jesus healing the blind man. We are children of light.  The light of Christ is a spiritual truth ringer, bringing aid and helping us to know the Truth of our own lives to find real joy. Listen and learn.
